Because ... Reasons

A brown dog's back is presented to the camera where he lays curled up in a chair while a large black cat stares at the camera in the process of getting comfortable.
Demon cuddling with Ori

Let's start with the obvious: why is the post late?

Because ... reasons.

I was too busy rereading Hawthorn last night to write a post. I've been working on a six-day stretch and am tired. Also, I am a lazy procrastinator who waits until the last minute for almost anything. What was also almost true was: The Law of Cat hath been invoked.

For those of you unfamiliar with The Law of Cat, it has two main principles. Part 1: I fits, I sits. Part 2: A cat in the lap is universally acknowledged as an immovable object. To remove said object is to incur a curse upon your entire bloodline. At the time that I opened this document, several minutes passed as Demon attempted to make himself comfortable on my lap. In front of my computer. Barring any and all attempts to type. Alas, I made the fatal mistake of trying to remove my phone from my pocket in order to capture an image of the audacity. This, of course, freaked him out and he decided I was no longer the proper pillow. That is when he did something I haven't seen him do in over a year: he went and curled up with Ori. Now, don't get me wrong, we all often sleep in the same bed together. (All of the cute cat beds we have, and Demon decided trying to sleep around two adult humans and a massive dog was his most comfortable sleeping arrangement.) In those situations, however, he is almost never in direct contact with Ori, but instead chooses to curl up by the boyfriend's peets. So for him to just ditch me like this and choose to snuggle with Ori like they used to when Ori was a wee wittle baby... I'm a happy momma.

Anyway, in book news, I have about a quarter left of Hawthorn to read before I go through and make the changes that I've noted. The next post will either be the one saying that it's off to the wife, or it'll be a PMC Spoilery Things Pt. 4. Either one will work. And obviously one will be shorter than the other, so I'm sure you can guess which one is coming sooner. That said, I am going to go work on that Pt 4 now while I have some thoughts in my brain about it. Including the realization that a scene that was cut (for good reason) is briefly mentioned in the book and now I want to go dig it out of the depths and reread it, lol. Anyway, off I go ... before I have to go to work.
