Admin Things

Welp, my portion of things is done, for the most part. Barring some admin things (like figuring out international pricing–holy crap!) my work on the PMC anniversary editions is basically done. Everything that comes next is completely in the hands of my incredible bestie.

Speaking of my wife: she and I have this little miscommunication. I call her the mother of my book children and she calls herself the father. But this is how I see it: Me: all the joy and fun of spewing random thoughts and imagined scenarios into a book.

Her: takes all of that data and crafts it page by page, cover design, interior design, and creates an actual physical copy.

Now I ask you: which sounds more like the mother vs father in this scenario? I get all the fun, and she gets all the work...

Don't get me wrong, it's not easy to craft a book that you're proud of. (Said as someone who has written books she is not proud of.) Rewriting and editing are also subjectively hard work. So I'm not out here calling myself a slacker (in this regard) by any stretch of the imagination.

That said, I only produced one book without her expertise. (Demon Kin: The Queen) And I can tell you right now, we have vastly different skillsets, and I hold hers in the highest regard. Thanks to Scrivener's compiling settings, and a lot of long hours fighting with image editing software, I was able to slap the paperback together no problem. If it wasn't for my Author Friend Jen, the hardcover interior of that book wouldn't look nearly as good.

To be honest, if I had the time and the interest, I could probably sit down and learn at least a little bit of what she's capable of. But it's hard enough for me to teach myself how to make teaser content. Let's not make my life more difficutl than it already is, thanks.

Speaking of which, I need to go make more of that... Here's everything I have so far (in case you missed it in earlier posts):
