Favorite Quotes
It is a fact universally acknowledged that your favorite quotes reveal a lot about yourself. Those soft, poetic lines that reveal your dreams. The more poignant sentiments that show your flavor of cynicism. Even the random bits of dialogue that will make sense to no one else, but tell everyone what your brand of humor is. They all intertwine in the tapestry of your personality. And it's beautiful. As a reader, I of course have a ton of quotes by favorite authors. (As a human

Outgrew My Vision
So, we all know how stories start, right? Something–a song, a book, a movie, a phrase, whathaveyou–triggers a scene. A thought. A 'what if?' question. And then you're off. There are people in your brain, voices in your head, and scenes amassing, begging to be written. So you write. Just a snippet here. A line there. Slowly piecing things together until you're sure you have enough to start with. Then you're off again to construct a whole story. I imagine that for short stories

Love Your Work
I come to you today with another bit of writing advice: love your work. Let's not kid ourselves; I don't mean that you must love everything you produce. Nor should you. A mark of an experienced author is learning to recognize when you've put crap on a page, and how to fix it. Like most things, writing is a process. Beginner Writing Tips
This is probably the number one question all authors get asked: what tips do you have for new writers? For so long, I was the new writer. I didn't have tips or tricks or advice to give. How should I know? Even now, I hesitate giving any kind of sales related advice, because I don't have the numbers to back up my own nonsense. As I've been thinking about it lately, I realized there were some things I did right and a lot I did wrong, but mostly what I would do over if I got th
PMC Spoilery Things Pt 5
I'm not even going to pretend that most of this post won't be about Nathan and Lex reuniting. I thought I could have more coherent thoughts by now, but nah. BUT NAH. First off, this one will contain all the spoilers. I'm going to talk about a lot of specific scenes because they give me all the feels, and I'm here to blabber all about them. Now you may continue. To start, I want to preface this with a thank you to my friend Connie that convinced me to cut out Nathan having a g

What's Next?
Honestly, throwing this together because I tried and failed to have PMC Spoilery Things Pt 5 done before today. So you're getting a little update into my life and the MANY projects that are currently on the table. This week, I'm going to go visit my mom. Last year, my sister decided to take her and the rest of my close family across the country and I've been suffering for it since. I miss my mommy!!! I mean, I miss the littles too. (My sister and I talk weekly, so I don't ha
