NaNo Winner

December 3, 2018

Well, that's another year under my belt. It's actually one of my best years, to be honest. For several of the past years, I was just squeaking by in the word count. This year, I not only managed to get ahead, but stay ahead.

There is still a long way to go before Dreamcrafter is complete. Chances are, the very little bit that I touch it in December will not have it finished any time soon. However, I am going to be working hard on new/old things.

The first of these is, obviously, the publication of Avens. I know there hasn't been a lot of word on that lately, but that's because we're busy people. The fact that it's also holiday season tends to add to the busy rather than detract from it. But we're still working on it and I still hope to do a full, huge announcement complete with banners and such for the release date. (By the way, the date itself is actually going to be important for the book. I don't always just pull a number off a calendar.)

Second of these old things I'm working on are a number of rewrites I've been wanting to tackle. Pretty sure 2019 is going to be the year of rewrites. This is because I do actually want an agent and to get placed in a publishing house. To do this, I have to have product worthy of presenting to an agent.

As a writer, I've learned my limitations and what to work on. Chunks of the beginnings can often be cut. The middle tends to slump, so I have to tighten it up there. The stakes aren't high enough, or I don't portray them well enough. And when the first draft really begins to disappoint me, I wrap up the ending in an untidy package just so I don't have to deal with it anymore while I look forward to the rewrites.

Honestly, I'm excited to get to work on them. There are, right now, 7 books that I want to rewrite. Four of which belong to a series, one is a standalone, and two will actually be created out of a current standalone draft.

Right now, I'll be happy to at least get the standalone (the priority) done before maybe tackling the duology. The series, while my baby, might need more time for me to expand my skills before I dive back into it wholeheartedly.

So, that's it. That's my master plan. If I happen to finish Dreamcrafter amidst all of my other brilliant plans, I'll be pleased. Honestly, I am going to try and finish it in a respectful amount of time, just because it is on Wattpad. But I promise nothing.

And ... that's it. I've got nothing else to say. Thanks for sticking around and reading this latest update. Now I'm going back to ... something or other.
