Camping ... Not That Kind

So, I'm back from vacation. If the lanyard and train aren't an obvious giveaway, I have no qualms about telling you that I got to enjoy Florida and many of the parks available. Including Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, where I was happy to partake in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. (Yes, I bought myself an Ollivander's Wand because I am, first and foremost, a bloody nerd.)

Now, of course, I've been back for a while and am embroiled in ... camping. No, not the dirty kind with the bugs and forest and general lack of comfort. No, I am in the midst of Camp NaNoWriMo. That thing writers do if they want to challenge every aspect of their creativity and time management skills.

So far, I am failing.

If I haven't mentioned it before, I was hoping to have this summer to be for things I wanted to do, and maybe some editing. I didn't want to be tied to my computer like I was last year. However, this winter I didn't get everything done that I wanted to. This included finishing the rewrites and edits for "Hawthorn" while I wanted to use this Camp NaNo month for the first rewrite of Book 5 in the PMC.

Sadly, that has not happened. You see, I did get most of the way through a "Hawthorn" rewrite ... before I realized I'd lost touch with Lex and had to start from scratch. That has been slow going and I realized it far too late. So that has been something I'm working on.

However, I also began another beloved project that I really hope to have finished soon. Well, that hope is a little dashed. It won't be soon; I know that for a fact. In an effort to push me, however, I added it to my Camp Nano schedule and have made serious attempts to work on it more. But there are only so many hours in the day and I work most of them. *sigh*

So, it looks like I will be failing Camp NaNoWriMo this year ... but we're only half-way through the month and I am pretty stubborn, so we'll see.

I'll try to keep the updates consistent. For now, that's all I've got.
